In this lecture, we will delve into the science behind climate change and extreme events, explore their impacts, and discuss how we can mitigate and adapt to these challenges. How prepared are we for the next extreme event? What actions can we take to safeguard our future? How are we helping the most impacted due to climate change? We will explore these questions by examining the scientific evidence linking climate change to extreme weather events. Then, we will discuss the specific impacts of these events on different regions and sectors. Finally, we will explore strategies for mitigation and adaptation, highlighting innovative solutions and policies.
